Demetrios Evening A114 is a floor-length black fit-and-flare gown built almost entirely out of draping. A soft off-the-shoulder band folds across the bust into a pleated sweetheart bodice and rests on the upper arms, so the collarbone and shoulders stay bare while the arms are lightly covered. From the bust the fabric wraps and gathers on a diagonal through the rib cage, waist and hip, and the gathers are anchored by a large hand-shaped fabric rosette set low on the front bodice, its petals shot through with tonal sequins and seed beading that read as shadow rather than sparkle. The skirt releases from that wrap, traces the hip and thigh and flares below the knee into a full sweep train. The back is high and completely closed over a concealed center zipper: no illusion panel, no cut-out, and no slit anywhere in the skirt, which makes A114 one of the few gowns in this silhouette that clears a house-of-worship ceremony, a conservative black-tie dress code or a mitzvah without a wrap.
