01 / The beginning
Before the showroom,
there was Jan.
In April 1974, Janice Davis began selling dresses, sportswear and accessories from the street level at the front of her Burlington, New Jersey home. That modest beginning gave Jan’s Boutique its name—and the first chapter of a story that now spans more than five decades.
As the business grew, so did the space it needed. Jan moved to a larger Burlington shop, then to Rancocas Woods, and later to Zagara’s Towne Place in Marlton. Each move carried the boutique a little further, while keeping its roots firmly in South Jersey.
In November 2006, Jan’s opened a new home on Route 70 in Cherry Hill. The purpose-built store offered more than 6,000 square feet, over 20 dressing rooms and room for a much larger collection. A later 7,000-square-foot addition helped shape the spacious, two-story boutique you can visit today.

At Jan’s, we start with you: your occasion, your style, your comfort and your budget. Our stylists help you explore silhouettes, fabrics and colors, then bring the possibilities into focus in a private dressing room. There is room to ask questions, try something unexpected and find what feels right.
Our second floor is dedicated to bridal, with evening and prom collections downstairs. Across the boutique, you’ll find more than 15,000 dresses in sizes 000–26, including plus-size selections. Availability and sizing vary by designer and collection; your stylist will help you find the right options.
And the care continues after you choose your dress. Our on-site alterations team helps perfect the fit of dresses purchased at Jan’s, so the finished look feels like yours.
