Demetrios Evening C104 is a floor-length silver mother of the bride and evening gown built on two fabrics. The bodice is iridescent taffeta, gathered into off-the-shoulder draped straps above a sweetheart neckline, then crossed over itself in soft pleats that narrow to a pointed dropped waist; the back stays open in a wide V with a ruched center panel and a concealed zipper. Below the waist the gown shifts into tonally beaded corded lace that follows a true fit-and-flare line through the hip and releases into a scalloped hem and a sweep train. It comes in Bronze Silver, a warm pewter that reads silver under evening light, and in Wine, and it is cut in sizes 0 through 28, so the same gown is available in plus sizes. It suits a mother of the bride or groom, a formal wedding guest, or a black-tie gala, and it is at its best with simple drop earrings, a small metallic clutch and hair worn up so the off-the-shoulder line stays visible.
