The lace is worked in a linear art-deco pattern of chevrons and elongated diamonds and hand-set with tonal beads and sequins that catch light without reading as glitter, and the motif runs unbroken from the neckline through the princess-seamed bodice and down the skirt. The gown is fitted through bodice, waist and hip, then releases below the knee into a softly flared mermaid hem with a sweep. The back is closed and high with a straight square edge, seamed panels and a concealed center zipper, so there is nothing to tape, pin or hold up through a long evening.
