• NO PARENT REQUIRED TO SHOP AT JAN’S.

You do not need a parent with you to shop for your prom dress at Jan’s. We know some prom girls have lost their mom, have a mom who works full-time, or have other family circumstances that make shopping together difficult. We will never require a mother and daughter to shop together.

Everyone’s circumstances are different, and we understand. You are welcome here—with or without a parent.

Choosing your dress

How early should I shop for prom 2027?

Start once you know your event date and dress requirements. Ask Jan's about the current availability and timing of each style before ordering, especially if you may need alterations.

Fit, availability and your event date

Check the size chart for the specific designer and compare your current measurements before ordering. Tell our team your event date so we can check the timing for your preferred style. Collection years and available sizes vary by product.

Can I try on every style shown online?

Contact Jan’s with the designer, style number, size and color before traveling. An online listing does not guarantee that the exact dress will be available for your appointment. Stock can change through online and in-store sales, and we cannot hold dresses before an appointment.

Jan’s offers on-site alterations for dresses purchased at Jan’s. A team member must schedule alteration fittings. Review our online sales policy before ordering.
