Handicap & ADA Compliance
- Is Jan’s Handicap and ADA Compliant?
Yes! We have handicap-accessible bathrooms, dressing rooms, ramps, and parking spots. Our website also uses UserWay.org for ADA compliance. If you need help navigating our site, please call or text 856-428-8181 or email info@jansboutique.com.
Appointments
- Are appointments required?
Yes. We cannot guarantee service upon entry without an appointment. Appointments are highly recommended. However, you can visit our daywear, sportswear, cruisewear, and accessory departments without an appointment. - Is there a charge to book an appointment?
We offer free appointments and upgraded VIP appointments. The free option requires a credit card on file but is only charged ($50) if you do not show or cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice. - Why do I need to make an appointment?
Appointments help us manage occupancy and ensure every customer receives top-level service. Cherry Hill’s occupancy limits also require us to keep a certain headcount inside the store at all times.
In-Store vs. Online Inventory
- Are all the dresses on www.JansBoutique.com in store?
Not all, but we keep up to 15,000 dresses in stock, including plus-size dresses and women’s sizes. Items labeled “IN STOCK!” on our website are physically here. However, our inventory updates often, and dresses sell quickly. If you need a specific dress, please call us before booking.
Guest Limit & Group Bookings
- Why is there a guest limit?
Due to occupancy rules, each Evening/Mother-of appointment may bring up to two guests. Prom/Teen/Pre-Teen/Bridesmaids appointments may bring one guest. Bridal appointments may bring three guests; a VIB option is available for five guests. VIP appointments can accommodate more guests. - Can I try on dresses with a friend?
Yes, if we have availability. Each person trying on must have an individual appointment, and we cannot accommodate more than two people trying on in the same party on one day.
Appointment Length
- Why is there a time limit?
Evening and Bridal appointments are 60 minutes. Prom, Homecoming, Pre-Teen, Sweet 16, Bat Mitzvah, and Quinceañera appointments are 40 minutes. VIP appointments are 55 minutes. Arrive on time; we cannot extend your session if you’re late.
Store Policies
- Can I bring beverages, food, or my child?
We do not allow food, beverages, strollers, animals, or children 12 and under in the store for safety reasons. - Are face masks required?
Masks are optional for all guests and employees.
Bridesmaids
- Does Jan’s carry Bridesmaids dresses?
Yes. We feature Jessica Angel, Portia and Scarlett, and Atria. Many designs come in 100+ colors, and dresses range from $398 to $600. These fashion-forward styles are wearable for multiple occasions.
Ordering Times & Price Range
- How long does it take to order a dress?
If coming from certain designers in China, it may take up to 3–6 months. Many customers buy off-the-rack from our store. We also offer several U.S.-based designers with shorter lead times. Shop early! - What do your dresses start at?
Evening/Mother-of-the-Bride/Groom/Bat Mitzvah: $600–$4,000
Short Pre-Teen/Teen/Bat Mitzvah: $298–$600
Prom/Pageant/Sweet16/Military Ball: $398–$2,000
Guest/Evening: $398–$2,000
Bridal: $1,000–$5,000
Bridesmaids: $398–$600
Age Policies
- Can a pre-teen or teenager shop without an adult?
Yes, but they still need an appointment to browse or try on dresses.
In-Stock Samples & Layaway
- Are all your dresses in stock samples?
No. We sell our dresses off-the-rack, not just samples. You can try on a dress in your size and leave with it the same day. Special orders are also possible if needed. - Does Jan’s offer Layaway?
Yes. We offer up to 60-day layaway with 50% down plus a $35 monthly fee. We accept cash and all major credit cards. We do not accept out-of-state checks.
Dry Cleaning & Alterations
- Who do you recommend for dry cleaning?
We recommend Mam’selle Dry Cleaners in Cherry Hill, NJ. Call them at 856-424-2487 and mention Jan’s Boutique for top service. - Does Jan’s do alterations?
Yes, we have a full-service alterations team with 100+ years of experience. We only alter clothing purchased from our store. Please allow about 8 weeks for completion. Alterations start at $295 for Prom, $425 for Evening, and $695 for Bridal gowns.
Trunk Shows & Our Sales Staff
- Does Jan’s host trunk shows?
Absolutely! We host many trunk shows throughout the year where you can see an entire collection in person. Check our website’s Trunk Show link for updates. - Do your sales stylists work on commission?
No. Our staff does not work on commission, so you’ll never feel pressured to buy a dress you don’t love.

- Is Jan’s a warehouse?
No. Jan’s Boutique is a polished, award-winning dress store known for its well-organized layout. We’ve earned top ratings from several magazines in New Jersey. - Do dresses run true to size?
Most dresses run 2–3 sizes smaller than regular clothing. We cannot allow customers to try on dresses that are too small, as this can break zippers. - Does Jan’s have free Wi-Fi?
Yes, we do! Guests can relax in our seating area, watch TV, or read a magazine while you try on your next perfect gown. - Does Jan’s have accessories?
We carry coordinating accessories, handbags, and undergarments. In fact, we’ve been voted “Best Accessories” by South Jersey Magazine. - Can you help a last-minute customer?
Absolutely. We can accommodate last-minute dress needs with any of our 15,000+ in-store dresses, including bridal gowns. - Exactly how many dresses does Jan’s stock?
We stock more than 15,000 dresses and outfits in sizes 000–26. Our flagship store spans 13,000 sq. ft. and includes 50 dressing rooms plus an accessory and daywear department. - Are “in stock” dresses really in stock?
We sell about 100 dresses a day, both in-store and online, so “in stock” items can move quickly. If you see something specific, we suggest calling to confirm availability. - Does Jan’s have free parking?
Yes, we have over 50 parking spots. If our lot is full, you may park at the Saw Mill Village Shopping Center next door. We also have designated handicap parking.
