There are many differences between the "BRIDAL STORES" and JAN'S BOUTIQUE.
Below are the many glaring differences between Jan's and your local bridal store.
BRIDAL STORES VS. JAN'S BOUTIQUE
1. SELECTION FOR MOM? I DON'T THINK SO. Bridal stores DO NOT OFFER THE MOTHER an excellent selection of young, updated, sexy and sophisticated dresses. Our customers tell us all the time that the bridal stores stock matronly dresses you wouldn't put on your mother. Your typical bridal store is not focused or interested in the mother, for good reason, she is not spending two, three, or four thousand dollars on a dress. At these bridal stores don't expect to find the best selection of dresses for mom!
2. NO APPOINTMENT, NO SERVICE! You MUST have an appointment at a bridal store. Jan's Boutique does not accept appointments and we welcome every walk-in. In saying this, it is important to be aware that just like any good retailer, on the weekends our store is very, very busy. For the most time to try on multiple styles (as well as you should) please see us during the week so we can give you ample time to try on. On a side note; selected couture trunkshows appointments are necessary.
3. CAN'T TRY IT ON? Bridal stores typically do not stock dresses in sizes up to a size 26! Jan's Boutique stocks dresses in sizes 0 through 26, extra-small through 3X, regular, plus, petites, women's and women's petites and large sizes too. Don't be surprised if a sales person at a bridal store asks you to take a small size dress and tells you to put it in front of you by the mirror trying to convince you it would look great on you.
4. THEY WANT IT ALL! Bridal stores are interested in selling the entire party and that is no different than a restaurant having a menu 20 pages long. Trying to do to much only leads to confused and unhappy customers. Bridal stores do bridal well, but unfortunately most of the bridal stores simply are not satisfied with that. They want the bride, the bridesmaids, the mother, the grandmother and the guests. It's impossible to do it all right. That is why Jan's Boutique primary focus is the mother and the guests. Jan's Boutique does not sell traditional bridal gowns or bridesmaids dresses------Jan's is not a bridal store-----nor do we intend on becoming one.
5. THEY CAN'T HELP YOU! Bridal stores do not focus on the non-traditional bride, the 2nd-time bride or the destination bride. Jan's sells dresses for most occasions and the non-traditional dresses fall under our category of dresses which we sell. So if you are in search of a dress that makes a statement but doesn't scream 1st time bride then come and see us!
6. LOOKING FOR SERVICE WITH A SMILE? You may get a smile, but expect to receive sub-par service if you are not the bride. Lets face it, the bride is the one whose shelling out for her dress. So who do you think a sales consultant is going to give all the attention too? Remember the sales associate is making a good commission on the brides purchase!
7. SAMPLES. Every garment purchased for a bridal store is a sample you typically can't or don't want to buy off the rack, especially from a bridal store. If you had the opportunity to visit a bridal store you may have noticed that their inventory gets really "beat-up", and we're being nice with that assessment. That is why the bridal stores call their inventory "samples". At Jan's Boutique over 100 dresses are sold on a daily basis, from stock, keeping our inventory fresher! All the inventory at Jan's is kept in clear garment bags and our stock girls are trained to keep the dresses in perfect condition. Jan's Boutique is extremely organized and the dresses actually look good hanging on a rack unlike all the other stores you may visit. You will see the difference the minute you walk into Jan's Boutique.
8. THEY WORK ON COMMISSION! This one takes the cake! While you are trusting someone to match you to a dress that is dazzling and perfect for you; they are looking for any way to get a commission. Do YOU believe they will be 100% honest with you? Jan's Boutique sales consultants DO NOT WORK ON COMMISSION like most bridal stores and boutiques do. Need honest advice?.......good luck getting it at a bridal store. Jan, the owner and founder of Jan's Boutique, believes that if you look good at your affair, then of course Jan's Boutique looks good. It's simple. When you get compliments on how good you look, the people complimenting you ask you, "Where did you get your dress"? It is a win-win for Jan's customers and Jan's Boutique when you receive honest and sincere fashion advice.
